Real measurements from real businesses. Each one is two dated runs of the same questions, with the CSVs kept. Named with permission; anonymised otherwise.
A Maidstone kickboxing club, July to September 2026
On 17 July 2026 we asked six unbranded customer questions (the kind a parent or new member actually types) to ChatGPT and Claude with web search on, twice each. The club was recommended in 0 of 24 answers. Its website was serving a blank JavaScript loading screen to crawlers, with no structured data, and an old address was surfacing in listings.
The Google Business Profile was corrected, the site was rebuilt to serve real content to crawlers, and LocalBusiness structured data was added. On 4 September 2026 we reran the identical questions. On Claude, the club now appears in 10 of 12 answers.
ChatGPT had not caught up at that point. Asked directly, it could find the site but could not find one page that put the children’s classes, ages, times and a booking step together for Maidstone, which the two competitors it named both had. That page, plus three directory listings still carrying old details, is the next round of work, and the next rerun will be published here whether it moves or not.
Same questions, same method, dated CSVs behind every number.
